This kit is bolt-on but \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ci\u003edoes require some welding\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e. We designed it to use factory holes to help with placement of the parts however a few of the parts need to be welded AND bolted to your frame. We designed it this way so you never have to worry about it cracking and breaking off the frame. This kit is designed to be used with a high pinion Dana 44 however, it can be used on any axle as long as you weld C-Bushing Radius Arm Mounts to the axle you are going to use (Note: You will also need Ford's 78-79 coils and coil buckets unless you plan on running a coil-over set up). This means if you want to run a Dana 60, you can still use this kit! We made it easy for you to finally do that swap you have been meaning to do, so start swapping my friend!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eThings to know about ProtoFab's Bronco Solid Axle Swap Kit\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen you use our Bronco Solid Axle Swap kit, be sure you have AT LEAST 4\" of suspension lift on your Bronco. You will need to have the correct degree of castor based on the lift you are running. For example, if you are running a 3-6\" lift, you will likely need a 4 degree radius arm c-bushing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you aren't going to run coil-over shocks, you will need 78-79 Bronco coils. You will be able to use the upper coil buckets already on your truck, but you may need to weld on some lowers. Some D44 still have them, some have been cut off. If you're doing a D60 with coil set-up, you will need the coil buckets and retainers to weld to your axle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eConverting over to the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/protofab4x4.com\/products\/chevy-1-ton-steering-conversion-for-sas\" title=\"Over-The-Knuckle Steering Rack Conversion\"\u003eOver the Knuckle steering\u003c\/a\u003e is the BEST option in our opinion, though you do have to re-machine your Ford knuckles to make them knuckle-under. If thats not what you want, you can use is 78-79 Bronco steering but it will require a few extra parts. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eNot all High Pinion D44 are created equal. Get the best for your Bronco Solid Axle Swap!\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe BEST HP Dana 44 was offered in a variety of  f-series trucks or Broncos (as long as they were produced in 1978 or1979). If you use a HP D44 produced before 1978, you want to make sure they aren't set up with leaf spring perches and that the wedge is already welded on the axle.
